After the 2009 season, NZ Football reviewed the National Women's League competition. When it resumed in the summer of 2011, age-related playing restrictions were part of the package, meaning the vast majority of players on the park to be of Youth League age (the 15-19 age bracket).
Hence my use, during that period, of the title 'National Women's Youth League', to reflect the age restrictions which were in place. To describe it as a fully fledged National Women's League during this period was hardly appropriate, given the bulk of the players weren't even fully fledged adults!
Those restrictions were in place for five years, i.e. until the end of the 2014 season, and the results and scoring details from matches played during that period can be found on the Under-20s page, and on this page for that inaugural NWYL season, when Auckland fielded two teams.
