The Central Premier Women's League initially ran for five years, between 1994 and 1998, before going into recess.

Following a qualifying round competition in the latter stages of the 2004 season, the Central Region and Wellington Premier Women's Leagues combined to form the Central Premier Women's League in 2005, featuring the top women's club teams from the lower North Island.

The winners are listed here, and final league tables can be accessed by clicking on the year in question, just as above.

NB  Massey University competed in and won both the Central and Wellington competitions in 2004.
