Unearthed in the Ports of Auckland archives, and now held by the NZ Maritime Museum, are three logbooks of the tug "Manukau", extracts from which appear in the links opposite.
The 1972 file is a complete record of six months activity from 1 March to 31 August, to give you a feel for the various activities regularly undertaken.
The 70s Highlights and 80s Highlights are selected extracts from the logs, spotlighting the names of ships and trawlers from Onehunga's past, as well as unusual incidents to which "Manukau" attended.
