Six ships alongside Onehunga Wharf in, till that point, the busiest year ever in the Port's history.
Northern Steam Ship Company vessels dominate the scene, with "Hotunui" berthed outside "Maranui" at the very end of the wharf.
Abaft of them lie "Onehunga" and "Tawanui", Holm Shipping's "Holmlea", and Anchor Shipping's "Towai" nearest the camera.
