Built in Svendborg, she is powered by one 2000hp MaK diesel, producing a service speed of 12.5 knots.
Ice strengthened, she has one 30 tonne derrick, two 10 tonne derricks, ten 5 tonne derricks and four 3 tonne derricks.
Her visit to Onehunga saw her load a cargo of onions for Europe, having completed her charter to the Australian government.
In March 1983, when again on charter to Australian interests, she was carrying scientists and journalists involved in research projects at Davis, in the Antarctica, when she became trapped in an icefield. The Russian icebreaker "Kapitan Myshevskiy" came to the rescue, and she was able to continue her passage.
By that time, she was owned by Chinese interests, and her existence today is in doubt.
