Built in Troon for Liquigas, she carried liquified petroleum gas from New Plymouth to Lyttelton, Dunedin and, after delays to the handling facilities brought about by Planning Tribunal hearings on environmental and safety issues, the specially constructed LPG marine terminal in the Papakura Channel.
Launched in March 1983, she cost $16m to build, and carried 1176 tons of gas in three pressurised tanks. She enjoyed a largely event-free time operating around the coast, save for one famous night on 16 February 1986, when, guided by Captain John Reedman's expert seamanship, she rescued 355 passengers off the stricken passenger liner "Mikhail Lermontov".

Crewed by sixteen, she was initially managed by the Shipping Corporation of NZ. After Liquigas announced a major restructuring in mid-1988, she was rendered surplus to requirements, and was laid up in Dunedin in January 1999 before being sold to Danish interests six months later, departing for Singapore as "Kilgas Centurion".
In February 2001 she ran aground north of Great Yarmouth, but was refloated a day later, and in May that year, she was renamed "Sigas Centurion", and since the start of this decade has been flying the St Kitts & Nevis flag as "Angas", before being dismantled in 2016.
