Built of wood by G.T. Niccol in Auckland in 1929 for A.G. Frankham & Co., she made many a voyage twixt Onehunga and Hokianga until 1949, at which point she switched coasts, operating out of Auckland to Awanui and Mangonui up north, then to Gisborne on a weekly service in 1960.

Later on, she was chartered to the Lightering Company in Gisborne, who removed her engines and turned her into a dumb barge for cargo transfers.

She was sold to Papuan interests in 1968, and they refitted her with new engines and readied her for island trading. Three years later, while on a voyage from Daru to Port Moresby, she developed a major leak and sank in the Gulf of Papua on 6 September.

Alongside at her home port, ahead of another voyage to Onehunga. Note the lighter alongside, laden with cargo.
