Built in Hong Kong for Union Company, she was powered by one 2880hp British Polar diesel, producing a service speed of 12.5knots.
She had three holds, four 5 ton cranes and one 10 ton crane, and worked the trans-tasman trade before switching to the coastal trade in 1974, primarily carrying coal between Westport and Portland.

A big ship for Onehunga, she called in on her way back from Portland in September 1979 (top of page), before carrying onto Nelson, where, three months later, she was laid up for sale.

Singaporean interests acquired her in July 1980 (below), and in 1987 she was sold to Taiwanese shipbreakers, and was broken up in Kaohsiung in July 1987.
