Built in Hamburg by Ottensener Eisenwerk for the United Baltic Corporation Ltd., she had a service speed of 13 knots.
After fifteen years operating in England, she was acquired by Reef Shipping for the Pacific Islands trade in October 1973, and after three years doing so as "Fijian Swift", she changed name and flag in 1976, continuing the service for a further three years as "Ha'amotaha".

On October 21 1974, she suffered an engine breakdown off Onehunga, while an engine room fire occurred on 14 January 1975, while she was alongside at Onehunga.
She was broken up in Auckland in April 1979. Refer also to "Ha'amotaha".
